I Cor. 7:26-35- Intimacy w/God.
I- Liking my first kiss as a child.
- God's placed in us an innate desire for intimacy.
-Many fairy tales, movies, & songs are A/B human intimacy.
:26-- Crisis: Marriage is a great gift from God, but life's best intimacy is
closeness w/God Himself.
- 32-34- Our intimacy should always be closer w/God than w/any person, even if
dating or married.
- A & I aren't each other's 1st love; God is; 1st command.
- If you marry, marry someone who loves Jesus more than you!
- God calls us His bride. EPH.S:31-32-- "One flesh"
- I have the best human intimacy possible, but God's is best.
- Human intimacy is best B/C He never breaks our covenant -- He never Leaves
us & always satisfies us.
- You're constantly told that sexual intimacy is necessary for fulfillment in life, but
it's a lie!
- Divine intimacy is necessary for life's fulfillment.
- Sexual perversion comes from desiring intimacy W/O God.
- A & I refrained from much intimacy B/F marriage so that our intimacy w/God would be
pure; Our 1st kiss.
- 28-- Marriage is good, but God doesn't call everyone to be married. He can fulfill you
either way.
- Only God can fully meet our need for intimacy.
:35-- Regardless if we marry or not, we should live in "undivided devotion to the
Lord."
