Jesus is Alive! Mark 16:1-16,
-- Prayer -- thank Jesus -- He's not in tomb or a book; He's in our presence.
:1-- These women loved Jesus but went to tomb to honor Jesus' dead body.
A -- good for us to look back to honor Christ's cross, but Christ is moving on and
doing a new thing.
:3-- stone's rolled away -- barrier btw Jesus is developing His character in us and
preparing a place for us w/Him (both present-future).
I-- seeing WTC-- we shouldn't forget a tragedy but we have to move on also.
:6-- Are we looking for Jesus in the right place? ("he isn't here (anymore)").
- I'd love to see Golgotha and the tomb, but Jesus isn't there. He's w/us now.
:6-- not He was risen, end of story. "he has risen!"
:7-- "he's going ahead of you." -- Easter event is complete but salvation isn't
complete with some people. Where do you think Jesus' focus is now?
:11-13-- Maybe you've heard many witnesses of Jesus yet still don't believe.
He's God and that we need His forgiveness.
:14-- The facts about Jesus' resurrection outweigh opposition. The Case for Easter
by Lee Strobel -- became a Christian after analyzing the resurrection.
- Many documented witnesses, time to refute, transformed lives - including my own
- attest to Christ's resurrection. Now it's just a matter of faith.
:15-16-- belief isn't lazy; it's active: tell others of Jesus.
- This Friday at 7 here -- evangelistic activity; bring non-Christian friends.
