At the Feet of Jesus, Luke 10:38-42
- Acquire the Fire Testimonies.
-- ATF - so glad that you went; we all need to sit at the feet of Jesus.
- Is it possible to do so many Christian things yet not spend time w/Christ?
I- My dad wants me to spend time w/him back at home, not just doing chores.
- Growing in God is primary to serving Him; God wants us to spend time with Him
more than doing things for Him.
- Time w/Jesus: Bible (listen), prayer(talk), and worship (admire).
- Martha was the hostess, inviting Jesus in and cooking for Him. Doing.
- Mary just sat at Jesus' feet and listened to Him. Being.
- Do we sit by Jesus listening or are we in the other room? "What'd your say?"
- Write out how you spend all 24 hours in a weekday-how much of it was spent
at the feet of Jesus?
:40 - Martha was distracted form the most important person.
- We have the opportunity to always be in Jesus' presence, yet what do we most
replace it with?
- Sometimes we replace it w/even good things.
:41- maybe busyness("many things") is our distraction from the one thing.
- Jesus:"You're bogged down w/a lot of things but I just want to spend time w/you."
- Ministry is good but can only be effective if it overflows from relationship.
- If our priority isn't relationship w/God, we'll be stressed serving Him(:41).
- "one thing" - to know Christ intimately. Philippians 3:7-11.
