When God stirs your nest Deut. 32:7-12
- I wrote an eagle, Christian book and will preach from it in next 3 sermons.
- Nest -- secure (20'x 9.5' x 3 tons) yet soft in the middle for baby eagles.
- Parents -- Anti-predator, gentle talons, feed eaglets 8 times a day.
- Eaglet should fly in its 1st summer, but some have outgrown the nest and are
still in it. If the eaglets resist continual growth, their parents stir their nest.
- Stir: parents will only fly past nest w/food; drop it nearby. Be skinny to fly.
- Stir: eaglet cry; parent moves soft lining to edge; remove comfort to exit nest.
- God stirred Israel's nest w/hard labor to leave Egypt for the promised Land.
- Pain "on purpose." God loves you yet allows pain if it prompts you to fly.
- God stirs your nest so that you will not be complacent w/incomplete growth.
- Why does God stir your nest? For your growth in Him & His glory.
- God's stirring may be changes, decisions, problems, or new opportunities.
- Not every discomfort in life is God's stirring, but here are some good signs that
it is God's stirring: uninitiated; un-manipulated; impossible to do alone.
- Good responses to God's stirring: thank (not complain), surrender, and listen.
- Hebrews 12:6 -- Stirring may be discipline for plateau growth or disobeying.
Or you may not have done anything wrong, but God still wants you to grow.
- 1st stirring in life is likely your salvation - surrender. He's not done stirring.
- My Stirring: 1st preaching, livingstone, missions. A; China; OKCCBC; Life.
- Has God ever stirred your nest? Is He stirring something in your life now?
- What do you need to adjust in order to respond to God's stirring?
