OVERVIEW OF THE WHOLE BIBLE
What have you learned recently or in past year A/B God at church or personal study?
Bible's theme: God desiring glory through the worship of all people he created.
Genesis-- Sin blocks worship, punishment comes from not worshiping God;
Flood; Tower of babel;
Abraham -- God chose one people to bless all people.
Exodus - Israelites - Egypt. God punished Egyptians & Israelites when they worshiped
other Gods, but blessed when they worshiped him;
Promised land.
- God gave them the law, tabernacle, priests & sacrifices to worship him; period of
Judges
- However, the Israelites wanted a human as king.
- Saul, David, Solomon - Israel & Judah.
- Each generation choosing to be God's people or not.
- Their disobedience: 722-Assyria - Israel; 586-Babyion-Judah.
- Diaspora - Jews scattered across the world.
- Exile - Some returned & rebuilt & followed God.
- Intertestamental - [ Medes - Persian, Greece - why NT is Greek, Rome - Vast empire,
roads, same Language ] - Daniel prophesied.
- Some worshiped God, but couldn't get rid of sin.
- Jesus - we couldn't make it to God, so he came to us.
- He lived perfectly died forgiveness pesurrected, & ascended.
- He gave us G.C., acts 1- 8- kingdom to all people.
- Acts 2:5-11- Pentecost, persecution, scattering.
- Gospel spread rapidly to other nations, - Paul.
- We're currently at beginning of revelation.
- PET. 3:9, MT 24:14 - Jesus' return is waiting for all people to hear A/B; & accept
forgiveness THRU Jesus.
- REV 7:8- A people from every people worshiping God forever in heaven;
others in hell

- GEN. 11 - Tower of babel - why did God create different languages? To mare sin
harder to spread to all people. Put up barriers. Also, harder for gospel to spread.
They bunched up; God told them "fill the earth".
- Why did God bless Solomon w/ wisdom?
Kings 4:34 - b/c people from "an nations" came to witness him & his God's
blessings.
- Why did Jesus drive the traders out of the temple?
John 2:14 - They were doing it in the court of the gentiles of the temple.
Passover - people from other countries were coming to worship.
- Why did God spare S, M, & A's lives?
So that God would receive the glory in a new country. DAN 3:28-29
- Jesus & Samaritan woman, etc.
