1. Overcoming personal barriers(:1-4)
- Jonah = Israel = Us
-Minds: God loves world.
-Actions: "Jesus loves me" Most prayers-me, seleste, lottie moon offering.
- Is there a place/people you don't want to witness?
A- Trusting God to be away from family; flying.
:4-Have you forfeited all your "Rights" back to God?
2. Following God through circumstances(:5-9)
- How many times do you need God to say "Go"?(3:1) (Mt.28:19-20)
-God can overcome our disobedience, at a cost.
- Fish wasn't the Lord's punishment, but his redemption.
- A boatload followed God when Jonah disobeyed.
- A city followed God when Jonah obeyed.
- God shamed Israel b/c pagans repented more.
- Most fruit outside USA; most new Christians are in Asia.
3. Becoming concerned w/what concerns God(:10-11)
- Circumstances are temporary
- God's concerned w/eternal more than temporal.
- God values our obedience more than our comfort.
:10- Jonah valued vine more than 1/2 million people.
- What's the "vine" in your life?
:5B- Are we content w/people dying w/o knowing Jesus?
:11- God is concerned for our little things in life, but not as much as w/people.
