REVELATION 1:12-18 WHAT CHILD IS THIS?
- Farmer becoming an ant to communicate & save ants
Thank God for becoming like us; praise him that he's not like us.
:13- Jesus isn't wearing swaddling clothes now; He's in the high priest's robe.
He's our access to God.
:13- "Son of man"- Daniel 7:13-14- Jesus - term - most (81x). Divine, heavenly,

:14- Jesus- Black hair- young. Anyone seen a painting of Jesus with white hair?
He's eternal, pure, & wise.
- We may like baby Jesus B/C we can contain him in a manger, be in control over him,
compartmentalize him.
- Only for a speck in eternity did Jesus have human eyes & feet.
:14- Eyes of fire- He sees all things, including our hearts.
:15-16- Bronze feet & sword- God of mercy, but also judgment.
:15- "His voice"- The world loves Jesus as a baby, why?
He wasn't talking yet, telling us how to live.
:16- Jesus holds 7 symbolic stars, but he also holds the universe in his hands.
"Star of Bethlehem" wasn't an accident. Jesus- supreme over his creation.
- You can look down at Jesus in manger & not be changed.
:17- If we recognize Jesus as he is in this passage, we'll fall down in worship.
:17- 1st & last- Jesus was human for 33 years & is the lord God for all of eternity.
- Baby Jesus is God's beautiful, humbling love (but..)
:18- Jesus is no longer in manger or in tomb, but on his throne
- Wise men saw Jesus for who he really is: Gold-king, Frankincense- Israelites used it
as an offering to the Almighty. Myrrh-Burial ointment
- The Jesus we worship at Christmas is the true God, king if the universe, who died
so that we could live with him.
- This Christmas, let us remember Jesus as a human, but not forget that he's God.
